It's been a while...
Hey there strangers, sorry we've been away so long. If progress on the house wasn't slow enough, Aaron switched jobs in January and is working an average of 75 hours a week. So our "do-it-yourself" options are very limited. Any action on the house will be either stuff I can tackle solo or things we hire out to contractors.
The first item we hired out was FINALLY getting rid of the two huge trees that looked like they were swallowing our little tan ranch. In fact, that's how I guided people to our house. But now we'll need to use a new landmark 'cause those suckers are GONE!
I took some "before" pictures but I can't find them for the life of me, so here are some old photos that show them.
The distance shot and a close up of the monster by the garage:
This monster at the right end was offender #2:
Post-op, with a certain nosy dog on the right:
You may have noticed some bushes in the first picture, we hacked them down a while back, but got stuck when it came to removing the stump ourselves. We had the tree crew take care of those while they were at it, so I now have a fresh clean "flower bed" that I have to plant. I've got a 72 pod planter on the dining room table. I'm going to attempt to grow Forget Me Nots, Bachelor Buttons, Alyssum, and Chamomile. I haven't gardened in about 10 years, so it should be interesting!
