Surprise, We're Married!

On Sunday, July 1st, Aaron and I got hitched in a private ceremony in our own backyard with our parents in attendance. Later that day we hosted our housewarming party and ushered our newly arrived guests in, urging them to check out our very cool cake. What made the cake cool? In big blue letters it said "Surprise, We're Married!" We got to watch our guest faces as they took a moment to absorb the news.

I also called the family back home in Maine to let them in on the big news. Being a Sunday it was tough getting in touch with some folks. I reached my sister Maija first and was repeatedly told I sucked in between congratulations *eye roll*. But in case family I didn't reach is reading this - don't despair, we're having a family party in September!

Both the marriage and the housewarming went well, both were small and warmly attended!
